Black Cat Games Casinos in Canada

Black Cat Games is a newcomer to the slots scene. The studio was set up in 2024 in Gateshead, England, by Doug Charnley and Adam Quickfall, and received its UK Gambling Commission licence in September 2025. Its games reach casinos through a distribution partnership with Yggdrasil, but the catalogue is still just a handful of titles. For Canadian players, that creates two filters at once: whether your province allows the site, and whether that site actually carries the studio's games. We reviewed Black Cat Games casinos with both in mind, then compared them on payouts, bonus value and player safety.

    Licenses
    UKGC

Rules for online play differ from Ontario to British Columbia to Quebec, so every Black Cat Games casino we list is first checked for provincial access. After that, we look at which of the studio’s titles each site hosts and which RTP setting it uses, since this can vary between operators. Our team plays the games in demo and with real money, requests withdrawals in CAD, and checks whether bonus funds can be wagered on these slots. Safer gambling tools and support response times come last, but a weak result there still rules a casino out.

    About Black Cat Games

Black Cat Games is a UK slot studio founded by veterans of the web-games industry. The team brings more than a decade of experience across web-game development, graphics, animation, sound design and production, with a particular focus on visual themes.

The studio’s early releases already use noticeably different formats. Island Ices focuses on low-volatility prize collection and respins, while Druid’s Drop uses cluster pays, persistent progression and a maximum win of 10,000x.

Black Cat supplies games rather than operating casinos itself, so availability depends on the operator and market. Some casinos may carry only part of the current catalogue. The casino itself remains responsible for your account, deposits, withdrawals and identity checks.

Black Cat Games History and Partnerships

Black Cat Games launched in December 2024 after 18 months of planning, research and demo development. Its first announced partnership came in February 2025, when it joined the Million Stars programme run by Million Games. The agreement gave the studio access to remote game server technology, distribution support, maths modelling and localisation, including work on Captain’s Curse.

Two months later, Black Cat joined YGG Masters. Through Yggdrasil’s GATI technology, the studio gained another route into Yggdrasil’s operator network, including UKGC-licensed brands. Black Cat then announced approval of its own UK Gambling Commission Remote Gambling Software Operating Licence in September 2025.

The first wider operator launches followed in 2026. Island Ices rolled out with brands including bet365 and Entain in January, while Druid’s Drop received a two-week exclusive launch with bet365 from 15 April before its wider release.

    Black Cat Games Slots

The official Black Cat game page currently shows five titles. Four are already available, while Dragonrise is scheduled for Q4 2026.

Game Status What Black Cat confirms
Captain’s Curse Released First Black Cat title, developed with support from Million Games
Island Ices Released Low volatility, cocktail prize collection, ice-cube respins, up to 1,785x
Druid’s Drop Released Cluster pays, persistent rune meter, free spins, sticky multipliers up to 128x, up to 10,000x
Lucky Lizard Oasis Released July 2026 Released in early July, including an exclusive period with bet365
Dragonrise Planned for Q4 2026 Upcoming release, further details not yet published

The biggest contrast in the current catalogue is between Island Ices and Druid’s Drop. Black Cat describes Island Ices as low volatility and builds it around cocktail collections and ice-cube respins. Druid’s Drop takes a different route with high volatility, cluster pays, a persistent rune meter and sticky multipliers during free spins.

Black Cat Games RTP and Volatility

Black Cat does not currently publish RTP percentages on its official game pages, so there is no provider-confirmed RTP range for us to compare. RTP describes the theoretical share of stakes returned over a very large number of bets. It does not predict what you will get back from one session. If the casino version shows an RTP in its game information screen, use the figure attached to that specific version.

Black Cat provides more information about volatility for some releases. Island Ices is described as low volatility, while Druid’s Drop is high volatility. Volatility tells you about the expected payout pattern rather than the long-term return rate. Lower volatility generally points to more frequent smaller results, while higher volatility can bring longer gaps between larger wins.

Black Cat Games Licence and Regulation

Black Cat Games holds a Remote Gambling Software Operating Licence from the UK Gambling Commission. The company announced its approval on 18 September 2025, and its official website identifies the Gambling Commission account 67371.

The licence covers Black Cat’s gambling software in Great Britain. It is separate from the licence of the casino where you create an account, so Canadian users still need to assess the operator itself. Black Cat’s website currently identifies its British licence but does not publish Canada-specific licensing information.

How We Choose Black Cat Games Casinos

We judge Black Cat casinos by how much of the current catalogue they offer and by the quality of the casino around those games. Carrying one title is not the same as offering most of the studio’s current range.

    • Black Cat coverage. We check how many current releases are actually available.
    • Casino regulation. The operator’s licence matters for your account, deposits, and withdrawals.
    • Canadian access. We check provincial availability, CAD support and practical payment options.
    • Game information. RTP and other settings should be easy to find inside the version offered by the casino.

Black Cat Games Pros and Cons

    Pros

    • The studio publishes a clear release roadmap. Upcoming games appear in the official catalogue before launch, so you can see what Black Cat has planned next.
    • Company updates come directly from the provider. Black Cat publishes dated news about launches, partnerships, and company milestones, which makes recent developments easier to check against a first-party source.
    • Its distribution model leaves room for more independence. The Million Games agreement gives Black Cat the option to acquire its own RGS instance in the future, which could support direct agreements with operators and other distributors.

    Cons

    • The official game pages are light on technical detail. Several titles have limited specifications on the main catalogue, so you may need to look elsewhere on the provider’s site for feature information.
    • There is no detailed game archive yet. Black Cat does not provide the depth of historical game documentation you can find with longer-established studios.
    • Its distribution infrastructure is still partner-led. Black Cat currently relies on technology and distribution support from Yggdrasil and Million Games rather than presenting a fully independent setup of its own.
